Praise be to the LORD, for he showed his wonderful love to me when I was in a
besieged city. In my alarm I said, "I am cut off from your sight!" Yet you heard my cry for
mercy when I called to you for help.
Do you enjoy reading the Psalms? Even though I have never been through the same circumstances as him I have never been a king, or I have never had to run and hide because soldiers were coming after me to kill me.... but I feel as if I can relate to the emotions that David had. He started out this Psalm by saying: In you, O Lord, I put my trust; verse 1a. Then his life got a lot worse, he was feeling abandoned, hopeless... he was in the middle of a very difficult situation, he was in pain when he wrote verse 22. When he panicked, he felt as if God couldn't be there with him in that situation. What did David do when he was feeling desperate? Several years ago, I would often have panic attacks medications didn't help me but I learned from David to cry out to God when everything seemed so dark around me. God hears our cries and He gives us a break from the pain. He is the only one who can calm us down. God loves us so much!
