Welcome to our blog!

We are so glad you decided to check out our blog today.  We have long wanted to have a way for the women at Peoples Church to stay connected.  A place were we could encourage each other to, as Paul writes in Philippians 2, "agree wholeheartedly with each other, love one another, and work together with one mind and purpose."  We pray that this will become that place.

One of the simplest ways to stay connected and focused on a single purpose to is read God's Word together.  So, each day for the next 30 days we will be posting passages from the Bible for us to read & consider together - no matter where we are.   Women from the Peoples Church community will be commenting regularly and we promise to introduce them to you as we go along.

We would love for you to share your thoughts and even ask questions.  If this is all new to you and you aren't sure where to begin, click on "The Three R's" page to the right for a bit of help.

To quote a line from one of the skits at the retreat this past weekend, "We weren't meant to follow Jesus alone...".  So, join us.  Let's walk this road together!

The Sisters-by-Heart Team

Day One:

" Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen. "   Jude 1:24-25 NLT

  1. Last night, as I watched the red carpet show before the Oscars one question came to my mind, the women who were the center of attention had spent a lot of money to purchase a gown created by a designer. It became apparent to me how temporary the fame of these celebrities can be. I was wondering how they felt inside. While the flashes are blinding them and the crowd is sheering for them, they probably felt a real sense of acceptance and then when their name was mentioned along with the others who were nominated they probable felt a great sence of accomplishment. Then, I became aware that God sees me clothed in righteousness 'without a single fault.'The gown that we can wear was obtained at a great price. God's own son shed is blood to pay for my sins and since I accepted this truth I appear holy before God. My heart says 'now all glory to God,' this is not temporary like the Oscars because God continues to forgive me, He continues to accept me in His presence. God loved me before I was born, before I impressed any human being and through His 'power, and authority' He will give me all I need forever! God opens His arms and He waits for each one of us to come to Him. May all the glory be given to God!

  2. Well, I have to admit, at first I had to take a moment to remember where the book of Jude was, for I've been wrapped up in the Old Testament for over a year now and haven't visited the New Testament in awhile. As I reread this little chapter, yet very powerful, it reminded me how some people try so hard to change God's word into their own or believe or prove that God made a mistake when writing the Bible. I have loved ones in my family that are in this stage and are so stubborn to listen to anything else. Do they really think they can win?:) As chapter 20-22 reminds me to build each other up in your most holy faith, to have mercy on those whose faith is wavering, to pray for each other and stay in hopes that my loved ones and others will be safe in God's word as I am, some day.
