Day Five - Psalm 32:6-11

Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.  You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.  I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.  Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.  Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the man who trusts in him.  Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!

  1. Yesterday, we learned that we are forgiven so we can approach God. As it says in verse 6 David tells us to pray. Throughout the day we can pray to God about anything and everything and we will learn to depend upon Him and look for His will. We can pray before we go grocery shopping and ask God to lead us in what we buy. It is so easy to over spend or buy things that we don't need. We can pray before we spend time with friends, coworkers... God can give the words to say through the Holy Spirit.
David is saying lets do this before we find ourselves in a bad situation.
In verse 8, God promises to instruct us, to teach us, to give us His advice and He will protect us.
In verse 7, David is saying: we can go to God and God will keep us from harm.
We can learn to depend upon God even when it seems as if everything is going well in our lives. When things seems out of control, we learn to trust God. What I am trying to say is that our level of trust should be the same if we are in deep waters or if we are living our life each day. We need God just as much in both situations and God wants that relationship with us.
The Lord will fill us with His joy as we trust in Him. verse 11
    What do you think?

  2. Amen. God's love, a love that can never fail, surrounds us and keeps us safe when we trust him. Just like the round life preservers (rings) do when our little ones are learning to swim. It allows them to go to deeper water. Let's let God's love take us deeper today.

  3. Praying to our Lord and seeking His cousel before we witness or deal with a tough situation in our lives is paramount! Even if we feel we haven't heard directly from God as to what to do or say, the Holy Spirit gives us the discernment and guidance we need to say what needs to be said in a God honoring way. This has happened to me before when speaking to a relative. I wrote 6 pages of notes to talk to this person about. Afterwards, I prayed and the Holy Spirit gave me the words to say that I didn't even realize I had in me. I never used those notes. It works!! These types of things will help us grow closer and deepen our relationship with our amazing Heavenly Father!
